Aluprof — the Polish aluminium-systems giant whose facades architects specify all over the world

When New York's Flatiron Building underwent renovation, its windows featured solutions from the company based in Bielsko-Biała. This is no coincidence. Aluprof, a company belonging to the WSE-listed Grupa Kęty, has for years been systematically entering the world's most demanding architectural markets — and increasingly it is its facade systems that end up in designers' specifications from Manhattan to the Middle East.

Scale that makes a difference

Aluprof is one of the largest manufacturers of aluminium systems in Europe. The company operates five plants in Poland (Bielsko-Biała, Opole, Złotów, Goleszów, Ogrodzona) with a combined area of more than 230,000 m², employs over 2,700 people, and its annual revenue approaches EUR 586 million. It is part of the Grupa Kęty holding, whose consolidated revenue exceeds EUR 1 billion, with exports accounting for 49% of sales. For a developer, it is a materials partner with an industrial base rather than a local supplier.

Export as a foundation, not an add-on

Exports account for around 40% of Aluprof's sales. The company has representative offices and distribution centres in Germany, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Belgium, the Netherlands, Romania and the USA. Systems from Poland also reach markets that are only now opening up: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

A portfolio of systems — from the facade to the roller shutter

The core of the offering is stick curtain wall systems. The most recognisable is the MB-SR50N — it allows facades with narrow sightlines to be built, with the option of bending the profiles. Its MB-SR50N HI+ variant received the highest A+ class from the Passive House Institute in Darmstadt. The newer MB-TT50 offers better insulation parameters (Uf from 0.5 W/(m²K)). The MB-SE85 SG unitised facade system was developed for Wrocław's Sky Tower. The portfolio is rounded out by window-and-door systems, sliding doors, fire-rated partitions, and facade blinds and pergolas — a coherent ecosystem for the entire building envelope.

New York as a proving ground for credibility

Beyond the Flatiron Building, the company has supplied solutions to several prestigious New York developments: 325 Lexington Avenue, Gotham Point / Hunter's Point and the 125 Greenwich tower. For this purpose Aluprof set up Aluprof USA, based in New York.

What this means for the architect and the developer

For the designer, Aluprof is a supplier that combines a broad catalogue of certified systems with research facilities and technical support. For the premium developer, the presence of this brand's systems on flagship buildings in New York and Wrocław is a ready-made reference argument — a signal that the building's envelope meets the standards of the world's most demanding markets.
