A changing of the guard at the top: Dawid Wrona takes the helm at Archicom
On 25 March 2026, the day it published its record 2025 summary, Archicom announced one of the most important changes in its corporate history. Waldemar Olbryk stepped down as CEO, having led the company through its transformation from a local Wrocław developer into a business operating on a nationwide scale. He was succeeded by Dawid Wrona, until now the board member responsible for residential project development, sales and marketing.
A change at a good moment, not in a crisis
Timing is key. Olbryk's departure coincided with the announcement of the best results in the company's history — 2847 homes sold and 2138 handed over, with sales up 30 percent year-on-year. This is therefore not a change forced by weakness, but a handover of the helm from a position of strength. The company itself links it to entering the next stage of development, focused on improving operating efficiency and financial results — rather than on building scale from scratch all over again. The outgoing CEO thanked the team for a "journey" that, as he put it, "is more than growth — it is a clear step towards greater maturity for the company".
Experience and mandate
Dawid Wrona has 25 years of experience in the development industry. He has been associated with Grupa Echo since 2016 and, from 2022, served as a member of Archicom's management board, responsible for residential project development and the sales and marketing areas. The new CEO therefore does not come from outside — he co-created the strategy he is now to execute, which significantly reduces the risk of a change of course. The supervisory board has entrusted him with delivering the strategy, with particular emphasis on growth in operating and financial results.
Nicklas Lindberg, chairman of Archicom's supervisory board and at the same time CEO of Grupa Echo, praised his predecessor's achievements: "Waldemar Olbryk did an enormous job, consolidating our organisation and strengthening its position across Poland. Thanks to his leadership, Archicom today stands at an entirely different stage of development than just a few years ago. Ahead of us is a new chapter in which we will focus on using the position we have achieved to scale the business further, supported by strong sales results in line with the strategy of profitable growth." The personal union at the intersection of Archicom's supervisory board and Grupa Echo's management board matters here: it is a signal that the company's direction remains tightly synchronised with its owner.
Efficiency and profitability as priorities
The new CEO set out his emphases clearly. "Ahead of us is the next stage of development — focused on efficiency, profitability and further strengthening our market position. The foundations built in recent years give us a very strong position from which to act," stressed Dawid Wrona. He regards the affordable segment as one of the main levers, without which — as he indicates in press statements — it is hard to reach the aspirational, medium-term sales ceiling of around 4 thousand homes a year. It is worth distinguishing this goal from the current assumptions for 2026, which speak of 3200–3500 units sold: 4 thousand is a horizon of ambition, not this year's commitment. Archicom remains strong in the mid and upper segments, but it is the affordable offering that is meant to open the way to a larger market share.
Context: leadership in Grupa Echo
The change fits an ownership architecture that sets Archicom apart from some of its competitors. The company has been part of Grupa Echo since 2021, and in 2023 — following the contribution in kind of Echo Investment's residential segment — it gained nationwide reach, entering Warsaw, Łódź, Poznań and Kraków, and from 2024 Katowice as well. The arrival of Wrona, a man from within that transformation, means continuity of the model built after integration rather than its revision. In an industry where many developers are today facing succession problems at firms founded 30–40 years ago, an orderly, internal handover of power is in itself an advantage.
What it means
For partners, customers and investors, the most important message is one of predictability: the strategy of profitable growth, worked out as a team, is being maintained, and the change at the top does not signal a strategic U-turn but a move into a phase of maturity and optimisation. The new emphasis — from "let's grow" to "let's grow profitably and more efficiently" — is a clear signal that, after years of expansion, the company will watch margin and costs just as closely as volume. The foundation of this change remains the record 2025, on which the new board intends to build further growth.
