The 8th Glassmakers' Run is over — 228 participants and PLN 14,140 for the “Tratwa” Association
On Sunday 20 September, Sandomierz and Tarnobrzeg were connected by the courses of the 8th Glassmakers' Run. Participants could choose the half marathon, the 6 km race, Nordic Walking, the virtual format and additional classifications. The entire amount from entry fees, totalling PLN 14,140, was donated to support the “Tratwa” Association for the Support of People with Disabilities in Sandomierz.
The 8th Glassmakers' Run was organised by NSG Group, owner of the Pilkington brand, together with the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Sandomierz and the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Tarnobrzeg. The Tarnobrzeg Industrial and Technology Park also took part in organising the event, providing the start location for the main race. Once again, the event brought together residents of both towns, NSG Group employees, runners from the region and participants who joined the competition in the virtual format.

Three distances and different ways to take part
In the on-site competition, participants could enter three events:
the Glassmakers' Half Marathon over a distance of 21.1 km,
the Glass 6 over a distance of 6 km,
Nordic Walking over a distance of 6 km.
The half marathon course led from the Tarnobrzeg Industrial and Technology Park in Zakrzów to Tarnobrzeg, and then through the suburban districts of Dzików, Zakrzów, Sielec and Wielowieś, to the finish line in Sandomierz. Competitors in the shorter events raced on a course around the NSG Group plant and the Port of Culture in Sandomierz.
A total of 228 people took part in the adult events of the 8th Glassmakers' Run. Younger runners had children's and youth races over distances from 100 to 600 metres, with 100 participants taking part. Those who enjoy running with their dogs could enter the “Glass 6 with a dog” category.
