ST Tower and ST 55 — how Szklane Tarasy bet on towers on the Rzeszów skyline

Whenever the high-rise development of Rzeszów comes up, two Szklane Tarasy buildings regularly enter the conversation: ST Tower and ST 55. Both have become part of the years-long trend of the city "going vertical" and have turned into some of the recognisable points on its map.

ST Tower by Rondo Krakowskie

ST Tower was built on Lewakowskiego Street, immediately adjacent to Rondo Krakowskie and close to the city centre. According to the development fact sheet, the building holds 66 apartments of varying sizes, each with a terrace, and 84 parking spaces were designed for residents, 37 of them in an underground car park. The developer presents the building as a city landmark, with a modernist form and a high standard of finish. It is ST Tower that — according to information on the developer's website — received the Grand Prix and the title of Building of the Year in Podkarpacie 2017, awarded by the Podkarpacie Regional Chamber of Civil Engineers and the Podkarpacie Regional Chamber of Architects.

ST 55 — a 60-metre accent on Armii Krajowej

The second of the towers, ST 55, was located at the junction of Armii Krajowej and Paderewskiego streets. Construction began in 2018 and was widely covered by the local media. According to the development's description, the building reaches a height of 60 metres and holds 98 apartments of 33 to 123 sq m, along with 4 commercial units on the first and second floors and a garage on the ground floor. A distinctive feature of the project was to be a 60-metre "green wall" acting as a natural air filter, while the grounds were to include an open-air summer cinema, a playground and a bicycle repair station. According to the local media, more than 60 per cent of the apartments were reserved in the first week of sales.

Two buildings, one strategy

ST Tower and ST 55 illustrate the line Szklane Tarasy has taken in the Rzeszów landscape: a bet on architecturally striking high-rise buildings placed close to the main transport hubs. In local rankings of Rzeszów's tallest residential buildings, both are listed alongside other towers rising in the city — a good illustration of the pace at which the capital of Podkarpacie is changing.
