MIPIM — Polish highlights and awards at the largest real estate trade fair in Cannes
For four days in March, Cannes turns into a global real estate exchange. MIPIM is the largest international trade fair for the commercial and investment real estate market — a place where developers, funds, cities and studios close deals and present projects that will reshape European cities. The next edition will take place on 9–13 March 2026 at the Palais des Festivals.
What MIPIM is and why it matters
MIPIM has run since 1990 and has become the de facto barometer of the European real estate market. In one place it brings together investors, local authorities showcasing investment sites and developers competing for capital. One element that draws media attention is the MIPIM Awards — a competition recognising the best projects from around the world across more than a dozen categories.
Polish highlights in recent editions
The strongest Polish highlight of recent years was Fuzja in Łódź — a mixed-use regeneration project designed by Medusa Group and delivered by Echo Investment. At the 2025 MIPIM Awards, Fuzja received the Special Jury Award. The development brings a former textile industry site back to life — across eight hectares, a quarter is taking shape that combines residential, retail and cultural functions, with more than a dozen restored heritage buildings. The Polish presence, however, is not only about awards: Polish cities and regions have been exhibiting for years.
What it means for the market
For Polish companies, MIPIM plays a dual role: it is a platform for raising capital and finding partners and — in the case of an award — a mark of quality used in sales communication. The MIPIM jury consistently rewards projects that combine commercial value with a responsibility towards the city and its heritage — an indication of the direction in which the expectations of investors and tenants are heading.
