Pilkington IGP as Strategic Partner of the 3rd Building Joinery Exporters Forum: certification as the foundation of expansion
On 3 September 2026, the 3rd Building Joinery Exporters Forum will take place in Warsaw. Pilkington IGP, as the event's Strategic Partner, will join the debate on the future of the Polish window and door sector. The key element of the company's involvement will be an expert presentation devoted to foreign certification – one of the most important, yet often underappreciated, tools for building a competitive advantage in external markets.
The current situation in international markets is forcing Polish joinery manufacturers to change their strategy. A model based mainly on price competitiveness is exhausting its potential in the face of rising operating costs and pressure from global suppliers. Pilkington IGP, supporting the industry as a component supplier, points to the need for professionalisation in the area of technical and formal compliance with the requirements of target markets.
Certification as a product “passport”
Pilkington IGP's principal substantive contribution to this year's Forum will be an expert presentation on the certification of processed glass and insulating glass units in foreign markets. A company representative will discuss in detail the technical and legal requirements applicable in selected export countries. The Pilkington IGP offering encompasses not only the certificates required to place products on the market, but also product solutions precisely tailored to the specific standards imposed on window and façade joinery.
The presentation will focus on the practical benefits of holding recognised, local approvals. An example of stringent regulation is New York's Local Law 15 of 2020, which introduces an absolute requirement to use bird-friendly glass in building façades. Thanks to Pilkington IGP's solutions, Polish manufacturers can supply joinery that meets these criteria, opening the way for them to deliver projects in the American market.

In many countries, holding local certificates is not merely a formality, but a prerequisite for participating in large construction projects and a key factor in building consumer trust. With its broad portfolio of tested products, Pilkington IGP helps business partners select components precisely and shorten the approval process for finished windows and doors.
Strategic support for exporters
Taking on strategic patronage of the Forum is part of Pilkington IGP's long-term strategy of actively supporting Polish exporters in overcoming barriers to entry into new markets. The company focuses on delivering not only high-quality glass, but above all specialist knowledge that enables manufacturers to minimise procedural and commercial risk.
Ryszard Chłopek, VAP Market Development Director, adds:
“In joinery export, the era of improvisation is coming to an end. Today, success in markets such as France, the United Kingdom or the United States is determined by the precise matching of technical parameters to local standards, confirmed by credible certification. During the Forum, we want to show that properly selected and certified glass is, for a manufacturer, the shortest route to winning the trust of a foreign investor and securing the profitability of sales in demanding markets.”
