Ready CAD files instead of a PDF catalogue — how Stargres gets into the project

Increasingly, the sale of a premium material is decided not by the product itself, but by whether the architect has it to hand at the moment of decision. Stargres plays exactly on that field.

Stargres feeds the architectural specification channel with ready-made models — in specification, the manufacturer whose up-to-date files and parameters are close at hand wins.

Stargres' most interesting move happens beyond the tile itself. The manufacturer feeds design software with ready-made models — its product base has been integrated into, among others, CAD Projekt K&A. In practice, this means the material can be dropped into an interior or facade project without hunting for data across PDF catalogues. It is a seemingly technical detail that genuinely decides whose porcelain stoneware ends up in the specification.

The language spoken to architects

You don't speak to a designer with a lifestyle photo, but with a parameter. Stargres' technical sheets carry the data that matters in the design segment: slip-resistance classes from R9 to R12, low water absorption and frost resistance, plus dedicated outdoor lines STAR 2.0 and STAR 3.0 — thicker slabs for terraces and high-load zones. It is the language of specification, where compliance with project requirements decides, not the pattern itself.

Specification as a sales channel

The mechanism is simple: an architect specifies what is available and up to date at the moment of design. A manufacturer whose CAD/BIM files, technical sheets and renders are close at hand wins over one with the prettiest but static catalogue. With a portfolio spanning dozens of collections and formats, keeping this up to date is a genuine organisational challenge — and, at the same time, a genuine advantage.

Materials created by Method Group

At Method Press, we see Stargres as a model example of a manufacturer where value emerges at the intersection of the product and its data. One organised, up-to-date source of files and parameters for architects and sales reps is the difference between a material that makes it into the project and one that gets lost among scattered PDFs.
