Tubądzin — how Polish ceramics entered the premium and design segment

For decades, Polish ceramic tiles were associated with utility, not with design. The Tubądzin Group is one of the companies that reversed that narrative — with a consistent strategy: inviting acclaimed artists to co-create collections and investing in large-format ceramics technology. Today, products from the Sieradz area reach 80 countries.

A company with continuity and scale

Tubądzin has operated continuously since 1983. The group comprises several brands in its portfolio (including Tubądzin, Monolith, Domino, Korzilius and Arte), operates three production plants and a modern logistics-and-production centre, and employs more than 1,200 people. It offers more than 50 tile formats, available in 80 countries. The group has announced close to PLN 40 million for the latest equipment at its factories in Ozorków and Tubądzin.

Sieradz — the factory that opened up large format

The breakthrough moment was the opening in 2016 of the plant in Sieradz — the first factory in Poland and in this part of Europe to produce tiles in the 120 × 240 cm format. Large format makes it possible to achieve an almost seamless finish imitating marble or terrazzo. In 2024 the group received the TecnAwards prize in the "Best New Tile Factory in Europe" category.

Design as strategy, not decoration

Tubądzin was one of the first Polish ceramics companies to invite artists to collaborate — under the umbrella brand "Tubądzin Meets Art". Its longest collaboration is with Maciej Zień (more than a dozen collections, including Sophisticated, Boho and Timeless). Collections for the group have also been created by, among others, Dorota Koziara, Malwina Konopacka, Łukasz "Nawer" Habiera and Wojciech Siudmak. Four of them jointly presented collections at the Cersaie trade fair in Bologna. The company also runs the Tubądzin Design Awards competition.

What this means for the architect and the developer

For the interior architect, Tubądzin means access to large format and signature collections without importing — with a shorter supply chain. For the premium developer, it is a material with a ready-made narrative: large-format, almost seamless ceramics bearing the names of recognised figures in Polish design raise the perceived class of a development.
